Job Description:

Giant Tiger is hiring a Fleet Supervisor for our Tiger Trucking division in Johnstown, ON! 

The Fleet Supervisor will ensure the smooth operation and optimization of our fleet to support the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our transportation operations.

This role is fully onsite, based out of our fully automated 660,000 square foot distribution center in Johnstown, ON! Giant Tiger can offer full medical/dental benefits, a store discount and 24/7 onsite gym access.

Fleet Supervisor, Role Accountabilities:
 

  • Ensure all fleet vehicles are maintained in accordance with safety standards
  • Keep accurate records of vehicle history, maintenance activities, and repair costs
  • Manage vendors including scheduling services, tracking costs, and ensuring quality control
  • Identify opportunities to enhance fleet safety and maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure daily compliance with MOT regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Investigate claims related to vehicle accidents or incidents
  • Monitor fleet utilization to ensure that vehicles are being used efficiently
  • Address driver questions and concerns related to equipment maintenance and function.


Fleet Supervisor, Required Knowledge and Skills:
 

  • 5+ years of experience working in logistics, warehouse, or transportation operations with an emphasis on fleet and fleet maintenance operations.
  • Class 1 or AZ license with 5+ years of driving experience
  • Excellent strategic/critical thinking
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills (all levels of organization)
  • Knowledge of industry regulations (Safety, HOS)
  • Strong proficiency with computer applications, MS Office and business intelligence software;
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to fleet safety, repair and maintenance.
