ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Black & McDonald's Southern Ontario Utilities team is growing! If you are committed and collaborative professional looking to contribute to a hard-working, innovative team, this opportunity is for you. The Mobile Technician will be dispatched from Scarborough and reports directly to the Garage Supervisor. The applicant will be trained at the Scarborough Shop for the first 4-8 weeks before going mobile. 

Duties Include: 
 

  • Examine and diagnose problems with assigned vehicles for safety or service work.
  • Minimize operational downtime by addressing minor and major defects on commercial assets.
  • Complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
  • Troubleshoot installation problems and resolve
  • Order parts as needed to ensure repairs completed in a timely manner.
  • Manage and maintain the appropriate level of supplies.
  • Maintain work records, files and reports relating to activities performed in an organized manner.
  • Ability to work overtime from time-to-time, as per business needs
  • Work in accordance with company HSE / OSHA Standards
  • Ensure all orders and purchasing activates are approved or performed in accordance with authority limits.
  • Communicate regularly with management on job / schedule status.
  • Provide estimates for major repair activities, as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by the reporting supervisor.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
 

  • Valid 310T license


WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
 

  • 3+ years of experience as a 310T mechanic
  • Experience working on aerial devices and off-road equipment
  • Possess a clean Driver's Abstract
  • Dealership experience is an asset
  • Willing and able to travel within the Greater Toronto Area
  • Experience with utility vehicles (e.g. Boom Truck, RBD, Arial Device, Crane truck, etc.)
  • License requirements: G - required. DZ/AZ is considered an asset
  • Hydraulic experience such as hose replacement or repair
  • Welding experience
