Accountability

  • Accountable for managing, planning, tracking, controlling and organizing the activities related to all RVM Modification programs with due regard for operational efficiency. on-time completion, and cost effectiveness.

Responsibility

  • Overseeing the development and administration of technical modification programs for RVM.
  • Interfacing Customer modification programs between maintenance providers and repair facilities, suppliers and other Stakeholders such as QA, RMS and warranty teams.
  • Tracking from planning stages through to verification and completion, all modification activities for RVM, including obtaining approvals, scheduling and reporting of KPIs.
  • Work with all stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, maintenance providers and other RVM and OOI departments (eg. Engineering, QA, RAMS, Warranty, Facilities, Continuous Improvement) to facilitate program completion.
  • Ensure part configurations are controlled and maintained as part of any modification activity.
  • Managing contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders of modification deliverables, to remain on schedule and on budget.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5-years' experience in Rolling Stock/Fleets, ideally including experience with Passenger Rail Vehicles.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with lean process techniques.
  • Experience in root cause analysis for process & practices on rolling stock in service.

Competencies & Skills

  • Knowledge and management of design reviews, Systems Assurance, and rolling stock testing.
  • Knowledge of rolling stock maintenance and failure analysis.
  • Knowledge and management of railway test environments.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong communication skills, in written and spoken English.

Education

  • Completion of a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems engineering, with a comprehensive knowledge of principles, methods, and practices of all three disciplines - or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in good standing in the Province of Ontario is required.
