Answers for Job Seekers

Q. How can I modify my resume?

 
A. An attached document cannot be modified. You must delete the resume that is currently linked with your account before uploading the updated version.

Q. The system will not accept my resume.
A. Your resume must be in Word format in order to be linked with your account.
 Q. I am currently receiving job offers through my e-mail and/or SMS (mobile phone) accounts. How can I deactivate this function?
A. In order to deactivate this function, login to your account, choose the ‘‘My account’’ option. Use your cursor to uncheck this option.

Q. How do I know if an employer has reviewed my application?
A. In order to know if an employer has reviewed your application, login to your account and choose the ‘‘My applications’’option. When an employer views either your resume and/or your profile, a red checkmark will appear under the corresponding column.


Q. I applied for a number of job offers, but none of them appears in my list. Why?

A. You applications will remain visible as long as the offers for which you applied remain posted on the site. There is no way to retrieve your application history, but, your application will remain archived in the employer account.

Q. I tried applying for a posting directly on the website, but I received a message advising me to open an account. I already have an Auto-jobs.ca account. What should I do?
A. You must always start by entering your access codes when searching directly on the Auto-jobs.ca website in order to be recognized by the system.

Q. What happens to my postings after the 30-day online posting period?



A. The postings are archived in your account after the 30-day online period. Resume’s remain accessible for your convenience. The offers can be reactivated or transformed as needed, which is a huge time-saver. Auto-jobs.ca therefore becomes your personal online, 24/7, HR tool.  An important fact to remember is that no resume will ever be erased from your account.


Q. Does Auto-jobs.ca guarantee that I will find the employee that I’m looking for?



A. We can’t guarantee it, as there are many variables form one employer to the next. On the other hand, we can guarantee that you will receive resume’s from people in the industry. Afterwards, it’s up to you to sort through them and identify the potential and transferable skills that best suit your needs.

 


Q. Are you a staffing agency?

A. No, we do not provide staffing services. Nonetheless, we do provide recruitment support, which represents an important part of what staffing agencies do, without the high cost and fees associated with the salary-based commissions of these agencies.

 

Q. Are there any other fees added to the job-posting costs?

A. Account activation is free. Clients are billed only for the services that they request. Example: job postings, support plans, pre-employment screening, featured postings, priority postings, etc.

 


Q. Where do you find your candidates?

A. The Auto-jobs.ca website benefits from excellent social media and Web visibility as well as its outstanding reputation among job seekers, who sign themselves up for free. We receive between 100 to 200 new candidates weekly, and the numbers keep growing. Candidates learn about us from colleagues, on the Web, by current employers who use our services as well as through social media, in which we are very active.
