Licensed Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Full Time)

The Licensed Heavy Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for the safe functions involved in the repair and maintenance of compressed gas equipment (road or rail) and commercial vehicles.
What you will enjoy doing*
- In this role you will take responsibility for the safe repair and maintenance of compressed gas equipment (road or rail) and commercial vehicles
- You are in charge to maintain, service, and repair compressed gas liquid cryogenic, carbon dioxide, gaseous hydrogen trailers, and rail car pressure vessels
- Repair and service trailer diesel engines and pumping systems, including cryogenic and high-pressure pumps
- Further, you oversee repairs and maintenance of hydraulic pumping systems and perform repairs on ABS, RSS, and electronic braking systems
- Perform brake jobs and replace upper couplers, suspension components, lighting, electrical components, and other running gear parts
- Conduct annual commercial vehicle inspections and Transportation of Dangerous Goods inspections (VIPK UC tank inspections)
- Also, you will complete maintenance work orders accurately and enter all maintenance activities into the maintenance software system
- Work shift schedules, including extended shift hours as required, to support operational needs
What makes you great*
- You hold a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; Heavy Equipment Technician (H.E.T.) license and CVI license preferred
- Class 1 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract (no points), plus WHMIS, TDG training, computer skills, and basic/advanced welding skills is preferred
- Furthermore, you bring more than three ( 3+) years of experience working on heavy commercial equipment (tractor/trailer) with proven experience in a garage environment
- Experience using computerized vehicle maintenance software; general computer literacy
- You have basic knowledge of B.A.G. and CO₂ equipment
- Physically able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive hand/arm work, climb, balance, walk, stoop, and use core strength for extended periods to complete maintenance tasks
- Able to travel overnight on occasion to remote locations to perform maintenance work; willing to work rotating shifts and be available for overtime; punctual and reliable
- Exhibit strong communication skills with internal and external customers (logistics, management, suppliers, vendors) and ability to complete and document hazard assessments when required

This is an existing position with an hourly wage of $45.11.
