About Island Gold District: Alamos Gold's Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Role Overview/Purpose:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Mobile Maintenance, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing a full range of maintenance, repair, and service activities on light vehicles and light duty mining equipment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Check light vehicles for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunction.
- Component removal, installation, alignment, troubleshooting and repair.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
- Must have excellent understanding of power trains and electrical schematics.
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) services on light duty mining equipment.
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems, using hand and power tools.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications.
- Perform repair work on light duty trucks, light plants, generators and light duty mining equipment.
- Find parts and complete parts list in work-orders using all available resources; and
- Other duties assigned by the Supervisor, Mobile Maintenance as required.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications And Experience
- Ability to diagnose, repair, maintain light vehicles.
- Preferred candidate will have Ford experience.
- Minimum of 5 years mechanical experience is desired. Automotive trade certification would be considered an asset.
- Candidate will have Ontario or inter-provincial trade qualification (310S or LV red seal from any province)
- Accredited in surface common core modules.
- Accreditation in specialty modules would be an asset.
- Strong safety focus; and
- Self-motivated ability to work alone or as part of a team.

- 14 x14 work schedule, 12 hour shifts
