ABOUT US

For over 50 years, Langs Bus Lines Limited has been a trusted leader in school bus transportation across Southwestern Ontario. Our strong ties to the communities we serve, along with a forward-thinking approach to customer service, have built the foundation of our success. We are currently looking for a professional, safety-focused mechanic to join our team at a full-service, modern maintenance and repair facility.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As part of our experienced maintenance team, the successful candidate will help service and repair a fleet of over 800 vehicles, including school buses, minivans, minibuses, wheelchair-accessible vehicles, and trucks. Langs is also expanding into electric vehicle technology, and training will be provided to support our growing EV fleet.

This is a hands-on role in a modern, multi-bay shop, working as part of a collaborative team. Responsibilities include:
 

  • Performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and inspections on vehicles and equipment
  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues using vehicle onboard computers and diagnostic software
  • Responding to on-road breakdowns as required
  • Completing and documenting repairs noted in Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs)
  • Ordering parts and logging repair details accurately using fleet maintenance software


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
 

  • Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience
  • 310T Truck and Coach certification (preferred) or registered apprentice
  • 310S Automotive Service Technician license is an asset
  • Experience with diagnostic tools and software (e.g. Cummins INSITE, Allison DOC, Diamond Logic, Meritor WABCO, Cetaris) is an asset
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Solid communication, organization, and teamwork skills
  • Clean driver's abstract and ability to pass a criminal record check
  • Must have basic personal tools suitable for the trade
