Position Type: Full-Time (Days, Afternoons & Weekend Schedule)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Fleet Supervisor to provide strong on-the-floor leadership and coaching to our team of mechanics. This role is critical in ensuring that our maintenance operations run efficiently, safely, and according to plan. The Fleet Supervisor will guide and support mechanics to focus on their core responsibilities-repairing and maintaining vehicles-while ensuring high standards of performance, safety, and data accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily on-the-floor supervision and coaching to mechanics, ensuring repairs are completed effectively and safely.
- Lead by example in safety leadership, reinforcing proper safety protocols and monitoring compliance across the shop.
- Utilize our database to track service schedules, review work orders, verify data entry accuracy, and analyze operational performance.
- Conduct regular reviews of open and completed work orders, proactively identifying issues and coaching team members on process improvement.
- Support skill development by mentoring mechanics on diagnostics, repair techniques, and system usage.
- Collaborate with the Fleet Manager to ensure vehicles are maintained according to schedules, and downtime is minimized.
- Address operational gaps through coaching and accountability, ensuring lead hands and mechanics remain focused on their technical roles, not administrative performance management.
- Participate in the planning and scheduling of preventative maintenance and repairs, leveraging system data to prioritize workload.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented environment built on continuous improvement, open communication, and professional development.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in fleet maintenance or heavy-duty mechanical repair, with leadership or supervisory exposure.
- Strong working knowledge of M5 or similar fleet maintenance management systems. (Work Orders)
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor technical staff in a unionized or high-performance environment.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and preventative maintenance best practices.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
